Our Antiques, Interiors and Collectables Auctions are held every Tuesday in our sale room at 29 Holt Street, Wrexham LL13 8DH. Viewing days and times are Friday from 2 pm until 4.30 pm; Saturday from 10 am until 12 noon and Monday from 9 am until 4.30 pm. Our friendly and professional Auctioneers are on hand during viewing hours to answer any questions you may have about the articles in the auction and free printed catalogues are available in the sale room. Procedure for buying at auction is as follows:
- Register to Bid
- If you have not registered with us before, either as a buyer, vendor, or on-line, we will take your details - name, address, contact telephone number and email address. This information is kept solely by Wingetts for the purposes of contacting you should you be successful in bidding for an item.
- You can register as a new bidder on the day of the auction, but please remember to leave additional time to do this.
- We also have a weekly email with a link to both a print version of the catalogue and to the Easylive on-line bidding site, and you can ask to be added to this list. This is optional and not automatic.
- Register for a Paddle Number
- On the day of the auction we issue paddles which are used to bid. Each paddle has a given number. When we issue you with a paddle we connect the paddle number with your details.
- If you have registered with us before, we will ask for your surname and the first line of your address. You will then be given a paddle number. This paddle number is only valid for a single auction and paddles should be returned to the office when you leave.
- Bid on the Auction
- When the Auctioneer reaches the lot in which you are interested, you can use your paddle to signal a bid. The Auctioneer will make it clear how much he is asking as a bid, and by raising your paddle, you will be agreeing to bid that amount.
- If you are the successful highest bidder for that lot, your paddle number will be registered on the system as the buyer. The amount you have bid is known as the hammer price.
- Please be aware that all hammer prices are subject to an additional buyers premium of 21% (including VAT).
- If you are unable to attend the auction in person, you can leave what is known as a commission bid. The Auctioneer will bid on your behalf up to the maximum bid you indicate on the form. Or on-line bidding is available at www.easyliveauction.com
- Paying for and collecting Lots
- Payment and collection is requested before mid-day on the day following the auction.
- You can pay for, and collect, lots during the Auction if you wish. Please bring your paddle to the office and we will process payment. Your item(s) can then be picked up from the collections door at the top of the yard.
